This main room has the earthen floor, reed-covered ceiling and clay plasters on the walls. I shaped the walls with the thick brown earthen plasters, then coated them with a mixture of silica sand, pottery clay and water. I then coated them with watered-down white glue to keep the silica sand from shedding. The walls on either side of the spiral staircase are drywall covered with burlap soaked in clay and water. It goes up like wallpaper. All the textures in the house keep it very quiet, which is important in a small house. The kitchen/dining area is behind the camera.
